De Villiers was seen flying at M Chinnaswamy stadium on Thursday. The Royal Challengers Bangalore flew close to the rope only to dismiss Alex Hales in a one-handed catch in the bid to stay alive in the Indian Premier League. In the eighth over, Moeen Ali length delivery saw Alex Hales hitting the ball over deep midwicket and AB made a leap and instinctively put his right hand out. The result is probably the best catch of the season.
De Villiers then got into the act for RCB, hitting some exquisite boundaries off Shakib Al Hasan and Sandeep before Rashid cleaned up skipper Virat Kohli (12) with a googly in the fifth over.
Brought into the attack in the eighth over, Basil Thampi leaked runs as Ali smashed consecutive sixes off the pacer – first over mid-off and then over square-leg boundary.
De Villiers brought up his fifty off 32 balls with two consecutive boundaries off Kaul (2/44) in the 12th over and then Ali followed suit notching up his maiden IPL half-century with a four of Thampi in the next over.
After the duo perished, Colin de Grandhomme (40 off 17 balls) and Sarfaraz Khan (22 off 8 balls) took RCB past 200 and then some more.
B de Villiers pulled off a stunner to dismiss Alex Hales in the 8th over of the Sunrisers Hyderabad innings to send Alex Hales packing at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Moeen Ali bowled a short ball on off, Hales hanged back and pulled it to the deep mid-wicket boundary. AB ran to his right, jumped high and took it with his right hand. He landed ahead of the rope and kicked the ball in celebration as Virat Kohli looked on in awe.
